Introduction to Entrepreneurship Week Pilgrimage

I’m Meaghan Barbin, an Ambassador of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at the University of Florida.  Fellow Ambassador, Adam D’Augelli and I pitched CEI the idea of a pilgrimage to the educational Mecca of entrepreneurship – Stanford University – and they agreed.

Join in the fun as Adam and I hit the road to Stanford University’s E-Week 2010.

What are we doing?

We’re documenting our travels from the University of Florida in Gainesville to Austin, and finally, onwards to Stanford University’s annual Entrepreneurship Week.

Outside of the conferences in Austin and Palo Alto, we are meeting with startups, VCs, and innovative technology companies.  We will be recording our thoughts and experiences on this Tumble blog – our goal being to create content to serve as a resource for budding entrepreneurs and the Center at UF.

How does this work?

With the goal of creating content aimed at engaging student entrepreneurs, here’s what we hope to do with this blog:

  1. Document everything that happens on the trip (except my bad jokes).
  2. Connect minds from UF to innovation hubs across the country.
  3. Start a conversation –What new opportunities are attracting the attention of the brightest minds in the country?  How can businesses make an impact beyond the bottom line?  What resources are available to young entrepreneurs?
  4. Have fun!  We’re looking forward to meeting some creative people, seeing a bit of the country, and spreading the word about CEI and the entrepreneurial community in Gainesville.  There’s nothing I love more than hearing cool, new business ideas.

We hope you enjoy our travels as much as we will - if you’re interested in meeting with us - please drop us a line at adaugelli@gmail.com - we’d love to meet with you and hear your story.

P.S. One last note - please excuse me if you hear any “WOWs” or uncontrollable fits of laughter in the videos… I am easily excitable.
